Deutsche Schule Rom is a German international K–12 school in Rome serving ages 2 to 18. The curriculum follows a continuous program from Nursery through Grundschule to Gymnasium, with a bespoke, European framework supervised by KMK. A core feature is Mehrsprachigkeit: German and Italian are integrated from the early years, with German-language instruction in Kindergarten and a multilingual approach in Grundschule that links the two languages. The Gymnasium culminates in the Deutsche Internationale Abitur (DIA), earned alongside the Italian maturità. The curriculum covers Deutsch, Italienisch, Englisch, Französisch, Latein, Mathematik, Biologie, Chemie, Physik, Informatik; Economics is taught in English; Philosophy/Filosofia is bilingual (Italian–German, Years 10–11); Italian History is offered. Students graduate with two diplomas and are prepared for university admission across Europe. The campus features digital classrooms, science laboratories, a 25‑meter indoor pool, an auditorium, music and art rooms, libraries, and outdoor facilities. Grundschule lessons run from 08:15 to 13:30 with six periods; breaks occur after the second period (09:45–10:05) and after the fifth period (11:40–11:55). The campus operates from 7:30 to 17:30, and the Secretariat is open 8:00–16:00.

The Deutsche Schule Rom runs a continuous program from Nursery through Kindergarten and Grundschule to Gymnasium. Mehrsprachigkeit is a core feature; German and Italian are integrated from early grades, with German-language instruction in Kindergarten to prepare for Grundschule and a multilingual approach in Grundschule that links Italian and German through a shared learning framework and smaller class sizes. The Gymnasium comprises three years: Year 10 (Einführungsphase) and Years 11–12 (Qualifikationsphase). The Deutsche Internationale Abitur (DIA) forms the upper-secondary diploma, with the final grade built from Bereich Q (course qualifications during the qualification phase) and Bereich A (the Abitur examinations), and the Italian maturità is earned alongside. The curriculum covers languages and subjects such as Deutsch, Italienisch, Englisch, Französisch, Latein, Mathematik, Biologie, Chemie, Physik and Informatik; Economics is taught in English, Philosophy/Filosofia is bilingual in Italian and German (10–11) and Italian History (Storia italiana) is offered, with additional Italian language courses. The DIA is European-oriented, supervised by KMK, and prepares students for university admission across Europe and beyond, with intercultural education and multilingualism emphasized.
Studien-/Berufsberatung provides guidance for study planning; 11th- and 12th-grade students receive personal support and participate in information evenings, university fairs, the geva test, and an internship. After this programme, students are admitted to universities worldwide, including Europe, Asia, the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States.
The Deutsche Schule Rom is open to students of all nationalities and admits children from age 2 years (25 months). Knowledge of German is not required for enrollment in the kindergarten. Guest attendance at the school is possible from 1 month. The school offers Open House and Open Day events to inform families about the program and facilities. Open House takes place on Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 10:00 to 13:00. Open Day events for the nursery and kindergarten are scheduled on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 14:00; Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at 14:00; Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 14:00; and Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 14:00. If you cannot attend a scheduled event, an individual visit can be arranged. The enrollment process is guided by the school and follows these steps: 1. submit the online application; 2) attach documents (family status certificate, birth certificate, Italian residency certificate, copy of tax code, copies of parents' and child's ID or passport, vaccination certificate, and the last two years' report cards); 3) schedule an appointment with the school; 4) the school leadership decides on definitive admission after a personal interview; 5) upon confirmation, payment of the admission fee. The afternoon program is optional in all divisions and can be customized. Tuition and related fees are published in the school's tariff documents, and bank details are provided for payment.
