High School students have guaranteed entry to Inspired Boarding Schools. Exchange students may stay in premium accommodation at an Inspired Boarding School or with a verified host family during exchanges.

PYP and MYP wear the official white polo shirt or T-shirt with the school logo, dark blue trousers/sweatpants or dark blue calf-length shorts/skirts, and a blue zip jacket with the logo. Grades 12 and 13 may wear smart casual clothing. PE kit includes comfortable clothes for activity and a non-marking pair of shoes; a wick-away T-shirt is available from the official uniform supplier OVS. Online ordering is through the OVS platform with personally assigned access codes.

School meals are served daily in the canteen with nutritious lunch options; menus are published at the start of each semester and are seasonally based. Students receive a mid-morning fruit snack and an afternoon snack; lunches are provided at an additional cost.

The school is owned by International School of Europe S.P.A. and is part of Inspired Education. Since September 2016, IS Siena has been a member of Inspired Education and is the only IB school in Siena to be part of the Inspired Group.

IS Siena offers the International Baccalaureate continuum for students from Early Years to High School, including the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP). It is an IB World School. The education system emphasises inquiry-based learning and international mindedness. The school also prepares Italian students to sit Quinta Elementare and Terza Media examinations. Teaching is in English, with Italian taught to a high standard and other languages offered where possible. The IB Diploma is recognised by universities globally and has legal equivalence to the Italian maturità.

2025 IB exam results were exceptional with an average score of 33.5 points and a highest Diploma score of 40. Example results include Caua Dias scoring 32, Beathan Kettle Martin 40 and William Binasco 34.

Beathan Kettle Martin will study Environmental Science at the University of Bristol in the United Kingdom. The IB Diploma is recognised by universities globally and has legal equivalence to the Italian maturità.

1. Complete the Enquiry Form. Request further information about our school and begin the Admissions Process by completing the Enquiry Form. This step initiates the admissions process.

2. Meet Our Principal. Following a visit to the school, the Admissions Team will arrange a meeting with the Principal either in-person or online, depending on the parents' availability.

3. Complete & Submit the Application Form. Submit the International School of Siena Application Form and provide the following documents: a photocopy of the applicant's birth certificate or passport; a photocopy of the applicant's Italian residence permit (Permesso di Soggiorno for non-EU citizens); copies of school records for the last two years; results of any special academic or psychological assessments; vaccination/immunization record; Nulla Osta (waiver) from previous Italian schools attended; confidential letters of recommendation from teachers; and any other relevant documentation. The school confirms acceptance by letter and/or email, and contracts must be signed by parents on campus in the presence of a school employee; tuition payment arrangements are included in the contract.

4. Admissions Criteria & Language Requirements. Admissions decisions are based on reviewed school records, confidential teacher recommendations, the applicant's language profile, a personal interview with the Principal, classroom observations where possible, and CAT4 cognitive testing. Students entering Grades 7–9 are assessed by EAL/English language acquisition teachers to determine the language pathway; Grades 10–13 must demonstrate age-appropriate English literacy and may be required to take an English language admissions examination covering listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

5. Additional Information & Trial Admissions. The school provides support for mild learning difficulties where possible; parents must inform of any previously identified needs at the time of application, and in some cases additional in-class or out-of-school support may be arranged. Admission on a Trial Basis may be offered when entry is not clearly in the student's best interest, with a written agreement outlining targets, criteria for success, and timeframes.

6. Finalisation & Contact. After documentation and assessments, the school communicates final decisions by letter or email and outlines the next steps.

Nsouli Scholars Programme: The Nsouli Scholars Programme is a global initiative that enables 50 extraordinary students at any one time to attend any Inspired school on a full scholarship for the duration of their education. The programme aims to expand the Inspired community and empower children from diverse backgrounds with opportunities in academics, sports, the arts and extracurricular activities. The endowment honours Nadim Nsouli, who founded Inspired in 2013, and several scholarships will be awarded to individuals of Lebanese origin.
