Admissions

The admission campaign for the 2026-2027 school year is open. Families who already have children at Lycée Jules Verne, as well as those enrolling new students, can complete the process via the Eduka portal. The school offers language pathways designed to support both French-speaking and non-French-speaking learners. Full details of the admission process are available in the Admission Procedure 2026–2027. Applications must be submitted by Friday, May 15, 2026. The school canteen is mandatory for all students from pre-primary to Grade 12.

Admission procedure for the 2025-2026 school year (subject to places available, differentiated into three cases based on prior schooling):
Case 1: A student enrolled in a public or contract-based French school in France or in a French school abroad recognized by the Ministère de l'Éducation Nationale in the previous school year or the current school year, and with no interruption of schooling, will be admitted to the class shown on the transfer notice on the livret or on the quarterly/semestral report. For entry into the 2nde, 1ère and Terminale, the orientation dialogue form will be taken into account. Admission of these students will be prioritized, but always subject to places available.
Case 2: A student enrolled in a school not recognized by the Ministère de l'Éducation Nationale in the previous year or the current year, or having had an interruption of schooling in the recognized network for more than three months and wishing to enroll starting from the CP (the first year of primary school): The student must undergo level assessments. These assessments are designed according to the levels expected by the curriculum. In elementary, a teacher handles the written and oral assessments. In secondary, the student will be assessed in different subjects according to the class level. In certain particular cases (for example visa procedures), and with the favorable opinion of the Head of Establishment, when technically possible, the assessments may be organized in a public or private school in France or in a French school abroad recognized by the Ministère de l'Éducation Nationale. The admission decision, as well as the level at which the student will be admitted, rests ultimately with the Head of Establishment based on the admission protocol and after the advice of the principal or the teachers concerned.
Case 3: A student entering kindergarten: For students seeking admission to kindergarten, a period of discussion and observation will be organized with a member of the Administration to facilitate integration. Admission will be prioritized for students of French nationality, but always subject to places available.
Waiting list: If there are no places available, a waiting list will be established according to the priorities stated above.
Admission tests: The non-refundable admission test fees for the current year are as follows: 1,000 Rand for elementary; 1,500 Rand for collège and lycée. Admission will be prioritized for French-nationality students, but always subject to places available. Note that for non-French-speaking students, a meeting with the Administration will be necessary to study the request and to set up a personalized language-support project.
