4. Schedule assessments and interviews.
Pre-K 2 (Early Years Campus): Developmental observation and parent interview with administrators.
Pre-K 3 & 4: Developmental screening with the school psychologist (parents have to attend).
KG & Grade 1: readiness screening and W-APT test; parents present.
Grades 2–12: MAP testing in Reading & Math plus a writing test.
ELD learners: WIDA-Screener test; Learning Support students may need psychological/educational evaluations.
5. Receive admission decision.
The admissions team reviews test results and grade placement, then issues an acceptance letter with registration forms and a payment invoice.
6. Complete registration and pay fees.
Finalize enrollment by submitting required forms and payment by the invoice due date. After acceptance, the parents should pay the required fees.
RIS offers several scholarship and tuition reduction opportunities, each with its own focus, eligibility, and requirements:
1. Griffith Scholarship
Open to both current students and new applicants, this scholarship provides up to 30% tuition reduction. It recognizes excellence in academics or visual & performing arts, and is named after Fr. Thomas Griffith, founder of the Minburi campus.
Eligibility and application details:
Must submit the online application and portfolio documentswhich includes transcripts, certificates, artworks, and media, by March 31 annually.
Academic applicants need a GPA of 3.75+, test scores, awards, community service, leadership, and two recommendation letters.
Visual/Performing Arts applicants (middle & high school) need a GPA of 3.25+, evidence of artistic achievement (e.g. awards, recordings, portfolio), and recommendation letters.
Career Excellence candidates (middle & high school) must show national/international achievement in a specific field, a GPA of 3.25+, supportive documentation, and recommendation letters.
Scholarships are subject to annual review and require recipients to maintain academic and behavioral standards. Serious infractions can lead to suspension or termination. RIS may modify terms each year.
2. Diversity Scholarship
A 15% tuition reduction aimed at families from underrepresented nationalities.
Available year-round (rolling admissions) for new students whose both parents hold non-Thai passports.
Limited availability: once a nationality exceeds 10% of the student body, no further scholarships are offered to that group.
Not combinable with sibling reductions, alumni reductions, or Griffith Scholarships. Recipients must maintain good character and discipline; terms are reviewed annually.
3. Alumni Parents Tuition Reduction
Recognizes RIS alumni parents enrolling their children.
Reduction rates per child:
20% if both parents are alumni or attended RIS for 6+ years.
10% if one parent attended for 1–5 years.
Available year-round, valid through graduation or withdrawal, subject to annual review. Requires proof of alumni status via the Registrar in the Advancement Office.
4. Sibling Reduction
Aims to support families with multiple children enrolled at RIS.
Provides a 50,000THB discount on the non-refundable registration fee for each additional child.
Tuition is reduced by 15,000THB per semester for each enrolled sibling.
Only one benefit per student (scholarship or sibling reduction) is allowed.
