Introduction
Mark Twain International School’s Senior Campus is the school’s secondary division for Grades 5–12, located near Băneasa Forest in northern Bucharest. Students can study through an English-medium international division or an English–Romanian bilingual division. The campus delivers the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme, followed by a choice between the IB Diploma Programme and Romania’s National Baccalaureate pathway in the final years. School-wide facilities across the adjacent Băneasa campuses include science and media laboratories, music studios, sports spaces and extensive green areas. Senior students can participate in academic projects, musical theatre, sport, language activities, educational excursions and community-service work. A distinctive feature is the availability of two separate graduation routes within the same secondary school, allowing students to select either an internationally recognised IB Diploma or a Romanian qualification. The Senior Campus also supports practical scientific learning, including research activities linked to the school’s on-site professional weather station.
