Billing schedule and payment terms

- Tuition is presented and invoiced on a trimester basis (1st trim Sep–Dec, 2nd trim Jan–Apr, 3rd trim May–Jun). Each trimester amount and the annual total are published in the school's fee schedule.
- The school's financial regulations specify invoicing and payment modalities, including periodicity options and measures in case of non‑payment; bank charges are borne by the family.
- Families arriving during a trimester benefit from a prorated reduction of tuition according to date of arrival. Families who leave during a trimester must normally pay that trimester in full, except in defined exceptional cases (examples given in the regulations include serious illness requiring repatriation, professional transfer outside Mozambique of the responsible parent, bankruptcy or loss of employment); in those exceptional cases a prorated refund may be approved, with months begun charged in full.
- A sibling discount applies: a principle reduction of 20% is granted on the tuition of the youngest child from the third child onward; this discount does not apply to the red tariff and does not apply to first‑time registration, re‑registration, insurance or the student contact book.

Boarding / residential provision

- No boarding (internat) fees are published and no boarding programme is listed among the school's fee schedules or downloadable price documents; the published tariffs and the financial regulation cover day‑school tuition, canteen and ancillary services.

Other recurring or optional costs

- School canteen: meals are run by the contracted provider and are charged separately. Published 2026 canteen prices are MZN 360 for kindergarten pupils and MZN 405 for primary and secondary pupils; canteen invoices are handled directly by the provider and payable under the provider's terms. Late payment or reservation errors carry surcharges as published.
- Extracurricular / after‑school activities, supervised childcare and other optional services are charged in addition to tuition and are invoiced separately.
- School supplies and uniform items: parents must provide standard school materials; the school publishes school supply lists and notes that certain items (for example a school polo for sport and classroom materials) must be purchased by families. Specific uniform prices are not consolidated in the public fee table.

Refunds and cancellation

- The initial registration (first‑time) fee is non‑refundable in the event of withdrawal. Re‑registration fees are also treated as reservation fees. The financial regulations set out the precise conditions and justified exceptions for prorated refunds (examples include serious illness/repatriation, professional transfer out of the country, or bankruptcy), and require formal radiations via the school's registration platform for departures.

Fee payment options and practical notes

- The financial documents specify that bank charges are payable by families. The financial regulations set out permitted invoicing periodicity and payment modalities (including trimester and monthly arrangements) and the measures applied in case of late or non‑payment; specific payment channels accepted (bank transfer, direct debit, card, etc.) are defined in the school's financial procedures. Families should note that bank transfer charges are the responsibility of the payer.

Key administrative points (short)

- Third‑child discount: 20% on the youngest child's tuition (exclusions apply).
- Bank charges are borne by families.
- Initial registration and re‑registration fees are charged at enrolment and re‑enrolment; the initial registration fee is not refundable in case of withdrawal.

Parent Experience

History

Created in 1979 by a group of parent volunteers, the Lycée Français International Gustave Eiffel began operating in the SCAC garage for primary and at parents' homes for secondary. In 1984 it bought a former Portuguese school, consolidating 65 pupils on a single site, while the kindergarten continued in two huts on land donated by the French Consul. The school was homologated by the French Ministry of Education for primary classes in 1989, and AEFE signed a convention in 1991. With AEFE support and its own funds, the Parents Association built a new building in 1993, and expansion followed through the 1990s, with the current facilities opening in 2002. In 2016 the school became Lycée Gustave Eiffel – Ecole Française Internationale de Maputo, and in September 2020 achieved full homologation for the entire school from preschool to terminale.

Community

The school is a place of linguistic and cultural exchange, enrolling students from more than 40 nationalities in a family‑style, warm environment from kindergarten to the baccalaureate. It combines academic expectations and personal development with openness to French and Mozambican cultures and is a member of the AEFE network, providing connections to leading universities worldwide. A Portuguese international section operates from CP to 3ème, with expansion planned to terminale. A range of locally developed projects in language, sport, science, culture and the arts supports student learning and engagement in school life.

Parent Teacher Association (PTA)

The Lycée Français International Gustave Eiffel is governed by an Association of Parents of Students (APE), a non‑profit organization. All parents are members of the APE, their dues paid as part of registration. The Association is administered by a Board of Directors. Its role and the regulatory framework for the administrative and financial management of the school are defined by the APE statutes. The Board oversees the school's administration in compliance with Mozambican law and AEFE recommendations. The Board is responsible for administrative and financial management, including the budget, cash‑flow forecasts, accounts, inventories and financial statements, signing all contracts and commitments, and the acquisition of real estate and disposal of movable property.

Completing the registration form does not guarantee admission. Step 3: If the decision is favorable, parents pay the registration fees and the deposit within the time limits to proceed with final registration. The final registration is confirmed after payment of the first registration fee and the deposit. Enrollment remains subject to the third-quarter report confirming progression to the next year group; in the event of withdrawal, the first registration fees are not refunded.
