Beira International School is a private, non-profit Cambridge International School in Beira, Mozambique, welcoming learners aged 4 to 18 (Reception to Year 13). It is governed by a parent association that reinvests 100% of proceeds into classrooms, facilities and staff. The Cambridge Pathway runs from Primary through IGCSE to Cambridge Advanced (AS and A Levels), with English as the language of instruction and Portuguese taught as a subject; the environment is bilingual with ESL support. BIS is a Cambridge International Centre (Centre Number MZ030) and was the first international school in Beira, founded in 1997. The curriculum integrates Mozambican culture and language. The campus facilities and technology are continually improved. Extracurriculars are extensive: sport (football, basketball, volleyball, athletics, swimming when available), arts (Art Club, Music, Choir, Drama, Dance), and academic clubs (Debate, Science, Mathematics, Reading, Coding and Robotics), plus language and service activities after school.
