International School of Debrecen is an English-medium, coeducational day school for students aged three to eighteen. Established in 2019, it became Hungary’s first authorised IB Continuum School in 2023, offering the Primary Years, Middle Years and Diploma Programmes. The school currently enrols 364 students from approximately 40 nationalities, with an average class size of 14 and a published student-to-teacher ratio of 4:1. Its campus beside Debrecen’s Great Forest can accommodate 500 students and includes flexible classrooms, separate PYP and MYP libraries, a 250-seat auditorium, sports hall, rooftop basketball court, running track and athletics facilities. Students study sciences, mathematics, design, visual arts, music, physical education and several languages. A distinctive feature is the uninterrupted IB pathway from Kindergarten to Grade 12, including the Grade 10 Personal Project and the Diploma Programme’s Extended Essay and Creativity, Activity and Service components. Optional door-to-door school transport and after-school activities are also available.
