Dover American International School in Cairo offers an American college-preparatory education for ages 3 to 18. The curriculum blends Common Core English and Mathematics with NGSS science expectations, Virginia standards for English language arts, and Egypt's Arabic studies guidelines, delivered through project-based, inquiry-led learning. A flexible pathway supports Kindergarten through Grade 12 and leads toward entry to universities in Egypt and abroad. English instruction aligns with CCSS, and French and German are taught to a level aligned with Virginia Standards and the CEFR. The campus spans 15,000 square meters in El-Sherouk City, with dedicated facilities for Kindergarten through High School, a library, three science labs, three computer labs, two art workshops, and two theaters with 100 seats. DSDC provides services for a broad range of learning needs, including autism, ADHD, cerebral palsy, specific learning disabilities, Down syndrome and Asperger syndrome. Support is offered in the classroom or a specialized resource area, with most students aided by a trained support teacher; a DSDC Advisory Committee inputs into services. Therapists in speech and language, occupational therapy, psychology and behavior programming are employed, and therapy is an integral part of the school day for Center students.
All students whose mother tongue is not English may be evaluated by Admissions staff to ensure successful integration into the standard classroom; literacy is a focus in Early Years for English language learners.
Mental wellbeing support is provided through the DSDC with therapists in speech and language, occupational therapy, psychology and behavior programming; therapy is integrated into the school day.
Safeguarding and safety are priorities, reflected in accreditation that emphasizes safety standards; the school follows Ministry of Health health guidelines and communications stress safeguarding of all members of the school community.
Step 1: Book an assessment appointment through the site and fill in your details. An approval email is sent once your information has been reviewed. Admission is considered on an individual basis and finalization requires completion of all relevant paperwork, evaluation of previous school records, an admissions examination, and possibly a personal interview with the Director.
Step 2: After approval, pay the application/assessment fee 3–7 days before the appointment to confirm attendance. The assessment fee is non-refundable. There is a stated assessment fee (2,000 LE) payable prior to the scheduled interview.
Step 3: On the assessment appointment day, the process lasts 3–4 hours and includes a student placement examination, a medical assessment by the school doctor, and a student/parent interview. The required documents depend on whether the applicant is Egyptian or non-Egyptian and are listed below.
Egyptian Applicants (Transfers within Egypt):
- 6 recent passport-sized (4×6) color photographs
- Copy of electronic birth certificate
- Copy of vaccination record
- Copy of both parents' national IDs
- Copy of student's passport (If available)
- Copy of end-of-year reports for the previous two years (including most recent report) stamped from the previous school
- Sequence of previous academic years and transfer request stamped by the Ministry of Education
- (Grade 9 only) any transfers from national schools require a stamped report card by the Ministry of Education
- From Grade 9, GPA, credit hours and grading key stamped by Cognia or a comparable accrediting agency
- Confidential (sealed) Behavior Report from the most recent school

Step 4: You will be notified of acceptance within one week. Admittance is finalized upon payment of the registration fees.
